Stayokay Hostel Arnhem

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the level of service and comfort. The rooms with showers were a standout feature – modern and clean, they provided the perfect oasis after a day of exploring.What truly stood out was the exceptional staff. Despite arriving before the check-in time, they went out of their way to accommodate me and ensure I had a smooth experience. The breakfast they offered was beyond amazing – a wide variety of delicious options that catered to different tastes.I can't express how grateful I am for the warm hospitality and the overall positive atmosphere. This hostel has truly set a new standard for my future travels. The worst accommodation I have ever paid for hands down. The building reminded me of an old mental asylum, the staff were rude and expect you to make the beds and also clean the room after?? I have never ever heard of guests paying to stay somewhere and been told to clean up after? What the hell are we paying for? There are zero amenities in the room not even glasses to have a cup of water.Four walls and a bed. Zero transport options in the middle of nowhere, honestly can’t understand why anyone would ever stay here. The hostel seems to be ran by a rude family, at the end of our stay they tried to incur extra charges as we refused to clean the room, they also tried to invent new rules that were never explained or made note of at the start of our stay, at one point two employees tried to threaten me with laws of their country in an effort to squeeze more money out of me, thankfully I know EU law, bearing in mind we had to find alternative accommodation for 2 of our 3 nights stay in Arnhem as the room was absolutely freezing with hard concrete floors and no furnishings whatsoever. AVOID this prison at all costs…….the owner has now replied proving my point and lying about what happened, the room was 100 percent available for use the next day as there is simply nothing in the room for it to take two days to clean up haha! Four walls and a bed, Really…what a horrible place with horrible dishonest ignorant people running it. Absolutely disgraceful.

The room was very large and the sink/toilet/shower were adequate. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The only downside to this hostel is there is zero access to water, if you want a drink you have to have your own cup and you are drinking it from the bathroom sink! There is no place to fill your water bottle, no access to a microwave to heat up water either.
